Website news (Reporter: Sun Jing) Recently, the list of “National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations” is published, and for our university, three dissertations were selected, and three ones were nominated. Up to date, there are 21 dissertations of our university selected as “National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation”.

The three dissertations selected as “National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation” are: The Regulatory Mechanism of Cellular Antiviral Natural Immune Signal Transduction by Li Ying from School of Life Science, of which the academic advisor is Academician Shu Hongbing; Research on Synthesis and Performance of High-efficiency Organic Electrophosphorescent Bipolar Transport Host Material, by Tao Youtian from the school of Chemical and Molecular Sciences, of which the academic advisor is Professor Yang Chuluo; Research on Knowledge Communication Rules Based on Web-based Citation Relationship, by Yang Siluo from the school of information management, of which the academic advisor is Professor Qiu Junping. 

The three doctoral dissertations nominated are: The Construction, Structure, and Performance of New-type Cellulose and Chitin Hydrogel, by Chang Chunyu from the School of Chemical and Molecular Sciences, of which the academic advisor is Academician Zhang Lina; Satellite Observation and Numerical Simulation Research of Dynamics Process of the Earth's Magnetotail, by Zhou Meng from the School of Electronic Information, of which the academic advisor is Professor Deng Xiaohua; Research on Inverse Theory of Geodesic Survey Based on Total Least Squares and the Application, of which the academic advisor is Professor Xu Caijun.

Recently, the university has taken many measures to improve the quality of doctoral dissertations, for example, strengthen the collective instruction of supervisor group, hold transdisciplinary forum of PhD student supervisors, school of PhD student supervisors, academic forum of PhD student regularly, expand enrollment scale of master-doctor continuous study and PhD Direct-Entry students, reform the cultivation system, establish pre-defense system, carry out online evaluation and discussion of doctoral dissertations depending on the China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, improve the sampling inspection system of dissertation, fund to publish excellent doctoral dissertation, etc. These measures facilitate the output of high-quality doctoral dissertation.       

According to information, the evaluation of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation started from 1999. It’s an important measure to improve the cultivation quality of PhD Students, encourage innovation, and facilitate high-level creative talents to stand out. To certain degree, it’s also an important indicator and symbolic achievement to measure the cultivation quality of graduate student of all organizations.
