More than 150 scholars and clinicians at home and abroad attended the meeting to exchange ideas on the present and prospect of the development of clinical pathology.
Feng Youmei, executive vice president says in his speech that Wuhan University attaches great importance to the study of pathology. He hopes experts and scholars at home and abroad can take this opportunity to have an in-depth discussion to further improve the level of pathological diagnosis.
It is reported that this seminar is jointly organized by Wuhan University School of Medicine and the University of Chicago Center in Beijing. This is a two-day meeting, including two parts: academic reports and case discussions.
In the academic report session, scholars gave wonderful speeches on the leading edge of pathology research, its typical cases and management model: Thomas Klaus, academician of Royal College of Pathologists and professor at the University of Chicago; John Hart, Xiao Shuyuan, and Cheng Xiaojun, professor at Department of Pathology in University of Chicago Medical School; Wang Hanlin, University of California-Los Angeles; Bu Hong, Vice-President of Sichuan University; Zhu Xiongzeng, Professor of Fudan University; Wang Guoping, director of the Institute of Pathology at Huazhong University of Science, Tongji Hospital;Lu Chaohui, deputy director of pathology department at Peking Union Medical College Hospital; and Yang Guifang, director of pathology department at Zhongnan Hospital.
In the case discussion session, experts have held a discussion on the difficult and complicated cases of Wuhan City. Thomas Klaus says that he is amazed at the high academic and diagnostic level of Chinese pathology workers. Xiao Shuyuan believes that the meeting is successful, and it provides a good platform for communication between counterparts at home and abroad.
It is reported that leading experts at home and abroad on soft tissue pathology, digestive pathology, and hematopoietic & lymphoid tissue pathology are invited to the attend the meeting, so as to promote the exchange of Sino-US pathologists and to further improve pathological diagnosis on tumor.
