Song Baoliang wins the Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award

News (Correspondent: Yang Xue) Recently, Mr. Song Baoliang, professor of our School of Life Sciences, was announced one of the winners of the 7th Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award.

Song Baoliang started to work as the Dean of School of Life Sciences in March 2014 from global recruitment. He has been devoted to the study of cholesterol metabolism associated with cardiovascular diseases. After returning home in 2005, he obtained a number of innovative achievements. As the nation's chief scientist of major scientific research projects and national Integration Projects of NSFC, he has hosted more than 10 key projects of NSFC, and has won the support of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has been awarded with the first Chen Jiageng Young Scientist Prize, the 13th Young Science & Technology Award of China, as well as the Arthur Kornberg Memorial Award;

Tan Jiazhen Life Science Award is founded in 2008 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and it includes "Tan Jiazhen Life Science Achievement Award" and "Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award". Both are awarded annually. In 2014, a total of 12 scientists won the award.
